Due to increased cases of influenza, HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Breese is implementing the following visitor restrictions:
▪ Children 14 years old and younger are asked not to visit at this time unless necessary.
▪ Anyone with flu-like symptoms (fever, chills, sore throat, body/muscle aches, headache, cough or runny nose) or those experiencing nausea, vomiting and/or diarrhea are asked to not visit patients. Those with any of the above symptoms who visit the hospital should wear a mask and wash their hands often.
Alcohol hand gel, tissues and masks are available at all entrances to the hospital and the HealthPlex, as well as near the Women and Infants Center elevator. Visitors are encouraged to use these supplies while here. All hospital colleagues, volunteers and physicians were encouraged to have a flu shot this fall. Those who did so have an orange sticker on their ID. Those who did not receive the flu immunization will be required to wear a face mask during flu season.
