Highland Arts Council to hosts Youth Arts Expo

The Highland Arts Council, with the support of the Highland Area Community Foundation, is pleased to announce its first annual Arts in Action: Youth Arts Expo.

The event will be held on Saturday, April 30 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Helvetia Sharpshooter’s Ballroom in Lindendale Park at the corner of Lindenthal and Park Hill Drive in Highland.

The Youth Arts Expo is open to high school-aged artists of all disciplines. Visual artists, dancers, musicians, writers and thespians would have an opportunity to share their creations with the public and to collaborate with peers and with professional artists.

The exposition is open to public, private and home-schooled high school students who are invested in the arts in the local community. It will be open admission (not juried) and limited to the first 10 applicants in each artistic discipline. The cost is $10 per participating artists.

Arts in Action is a one-day exposition, including registration, a roundtable discussion among guest artists and youth artists, a welcome celebration, an opportunity to showcasing artists in action, and a closing awards ceremony. The event will be open and free to the public.
