Highland area police briefs for the week of March 7-13

Glen Carbon man pleads guilty to robbing Maryville gas station

Jonathan Michael Malone, 53, of Glen Carbon pleaded guilty on March 14 in the United States District Court in East St. Louis to robbing a Maryville gas station in January. Malone admitted in open court that, on Jan. 14, eh robbed the One Stop Shop Gas Station in Maryville. During the robbery, Malone, who had a previous conviction for armed robbery, brandished a handgun at the owner. Sentencing is set for July 12.

HPD misdemeanor warrant arrests

▪ Timothy J. Blaylock, 31, of Highland was arrested on March 8 on a warrant from HPD for failure to appear in court on a charge of violating an order of protection. He was taken to the Madison County Courthouse to appear in front of a judge.

▪ Justin M. Unger, 24, of Highland was arrested by HPD on March 10 on a warrant from St. Clair County for failure to appear in court on a possession of cannabis charge. He posted bond.

▪ Terry L. Knoche Jr., 33, of St. Jacob was arrested by HPD on March 11 on a warrant from Troy police for failure to appear in court on a charge of driving while having a revoked license. He posted bond.

▪ Corey L. Frey, 31, of Highland was arrested by HPD on March 13 on a warrant from Troy police for failure to appear in court on a charge of driving while having a revoked license. He posted bond.

▪ Michael A. Kessels, 41, of St. Louis, Mo., was arrested by HPD on March 13 on a warrant from Illinois State Police for failure to appear in court on a speeding charge.

March 7

▪ Dakota Long, 22, of Highland was charged with speeding.

March 8

▪ Emily C. Orschell, 19, of Trenton was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

▪ A juvenile boy, 17, of Highland was charged with possession of cannabis, and another juvenile boy, 16, of Highland was charged with delivery of cannabis, during the same incident.

▪ A juvenile, 16, of Highland was charged with disobeying a traffic sign.

▪ Eric Deiters, 38, of Highland was charged with driving while having a suspended/revoked license.

March 9-10

▪ No tickets issued.

March 11

▪ Jamie N. Daniels, 30, of Keyesport was charged with retail theft for allegedly taking cosmetics from Walmart.

March 12

▪ Rande Sussenbach, 45, of Pittsburg, Ill., was charged with driving while having a suspended/revoked license.

▪ Kyle Meyer, 30, of Maryville was charged with driving while having an expired license and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle.

March 13

▪ 

Colten B. Grotts, 25, of Greenville was charged with possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle.
