Leef Township Meeting

The Leef Township Annual Meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 12 at 8 p.m. at the Leef Township Building. The agenda will be as follows: Call to order, approval of minutes, approval of financial report, the reports of the auditors, supervisor, road commissioner and assessor, old business, new business/resolution requests, other new business, and adjournment. Choir concert for Hitz Auxiliary

The choir concert for the Hitz Home Auxiliary will be held at Salem United Church of Christ in Alhambra on Sunday, April 10 at 2 p.m. The Grantfork Choir will perform.

St. Gertrude Catholic Church

First Communion will at St. Gertrude Church will be on Sunday, April 10. St. Gertrude second-graders are Laila Barr, Clayton Neumann and Harrison Scholl.

St. Gertrude is preparing for its annual chicken dinner, which will be held on Sunday, June 5. Volunteers are needed and asked to sign up to clean the church before the dinner, on Tuesday, May 31 at 6 p.m., and after the dinner, on Monday June 6.

The Catholic Holy Family Society will again have the Country Store at the St. Gertrude Chicken Dinner. Organizers are asking for donations of baked and food items, crafts, homemade jellies and canned goods also go over well. Donations for the chicken dinner raffle are also being accepted; contact Carly Ann Maurer at 488-3183 if you would like to make a donation.

Grantfork Elementary School

Students will enjoy a field trip to Carlyle Lake on April 22 as part of the Earth Day celebration. Cost of the trip will be $6 per student and money should be turned in by April 11.

A reminder that Highland School District has a dress code. Shorts and skirts should be mid-thigh, and no halters or spaghetti strap tops will be allowed.

Fifth-grade baby pictures are due by April 15.

The next PTO meeting will be at Grantfork at 6:30 p.m. on April 19.

Grantfork UCC

On Thursday, April 7, the Women’s Guild will meet at 11 a.m. at Blue Springs. The Churchmen’s Fellowship will meet at the church at 8 p.m.

There will be a worship service held at Faith Countryside at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 9.

Sunday school and Confirmation will be on Sunday, April 17 at 9 a.m., worship at 10:15, and the pastoral relations coffee hour will be at 11:15.

The Church Council meeting will be held on April 19 at 7:15 p.m., and yoga will be at 7 p.m.

On April 20, there will be choir practice, and on the 21^st, there will be Alhambra Care worship at 10 a.m.
