Highland area police briefs for the week of April 4-10

Teen faces multiple drug charges

A Columbia, Ill., teen faces a felony drug charge after being arrested by Highland police on April 3.

HPD charged Mackenzie E. Bates, 18, was charged with felony unlawful possession of a controlled substance for allegedly possessing less than 15 grams of a substance containing heroin.

Bates was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of hypodermic syringes, and obstructing a peace officer for allegedly giving a false name.

She was also wanted on a warrant from Monroe County for unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

HPD felony warrant arrest

▪ Ronald C. Mousette, 33, of Highland was arrested by Highland police on April 8 on a warrant from Madison County for felony possession of a controlled substance. No further information was available.

April 4

▪ No tickets issued.

April 5

▪ Harold Rose, 64, of Highland was charged with failure to yield when turning left.

▪ A juvenile, 15, of Highland was charged with battery for allegedly throwing a deodorant cap at one family member and allegedly punching another in the arm.

April 6-9

▪ No tickets issued.

April 10

▪ Jonathan Nettles, 27, of Pocahontas was charged with failure to stop/yield at an intersection.

▪ Matthew K. Fox, 38, of Highland was charged with criminal trespass to property for allegedly entering Schuette’s Market after having been previously told he was forbidden there.
