Highland has something new. Recently, the LittleFreeLibrary was opened and is ready and waiting for boys and girls, ages 0-11, to borrow books and return them whenever the book has been read. Kids may also add books they would like to share of their own when they no longer wish to keep them — with their parents’ permission of course — so that other kids may enjoy them, too.

The book house is located at the exit doors of WeeCare Day Care and Peppermint School at Evangelical United Church of Christ, 2520 Poplar St. Any child may use the book house. You do not need to be a member of the church or a student at WeeCare nor Peppermint School. There is no checkout required; it is on an honor system. Lend a book; return a book.

The original books to help get this book house started were donated by the IFBW members and the Woodmen of the World ladies.
