Grantfork news for the week of April 27

Grantfork Yard Sales

The village-wide yard sales will be held on Thursday, May 5 from 3 to 8 p.m.; on Friday May 6 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and on Saturday, May 7 from 8 a.m. to noon. Call Wendy Reinacher 675-3472 for further information and to get your sale listed.

Grantfork Elementary

May 2-6 will be Teachers Appreciation Days.

On May 2, Highland Middle School students will visit the fifth grade.

On May 5, school will dismiss at 11:50 a.m. for a teachers in-service.

On May 13, students will enjoy an Amelia Earhart Presentation.

On May 18, the students will go on field trip to the St. Louis City Museum.

There will be no school on May 19 due to a teachers workday.

May 20 will be the last day of school.

Grantfork UCC

Parishioners are reminded that the UFO (United For Others) will have their Bake Sale on Sunday, May 1.

St. Gertrude Catholic Church

On Wednesday, April 27, there will be a Mass and May Crowning of the Blessed Virgin Mary at Immaculate Conception at 6:30 p.m. to close the PSR school year. This will be followed by an ice cream social for everyone.

St. Gertrude is preparing for its annual chicken dinner, which will be held on Sunday, June 5. Volunteers are needed and asked to sign up to clean the church before the dinner, on Tuesday, May 31 at 6 p.m., and after the dinner, on Monday June 6.

The Catholic Holy Family Society will again have the Country Store at the St. Gertrude Chicken Dinner. Organizers are asking for donations of baked and food items, crafts, homemade jellies and canned goods also go over well. Donations for the chicken dinner raffle are also being accepted; contact Carly Ann Maurer at 488-3183 if you would like to make a donation.
