Joe Horstmann, who also owns and operates his own investment firm in Highland, and his wife Jessica, a sales consultant for Altria, opened their new business at 1522 Main St., near the roundabout at Broadway and Poplar Street, on May 6.
“We give all customers the ease of a drive-through lot to get their ice and water without waiting in lines and having to deal with other things that hold them up,” said Joe Horstmann. “We offer 16-pound bags of ice and 20-pound bulk ice, which is, by a large margin, the cheapest place in town. Our water is purified and is also a convenient place to fill up for a fraction of the price as well.”
Purified water is sold in 1- and 5-gallon amounts.

“Our goal is to provide service to a wide array of people and give them a bang for their buck they can’t get anywhere else in town, and do this in a convenient manner,” Joe Horstmann said. “We hope to provide ice to many of the festivals in town, race crews heading to the track on Saturday night, people having large gatherings and parties, and everyday users of ice and water.”
The Horstmanns have two children. They are involved in many community organizations and are currently on the Kirchenfest chairman’s board.
