Pamphlet lays out self-guided tour of historic Marine homes

The history of Marine village dates back to 1836. Today, Marine’s population is 950. Although the village is small, there remains many old historical homes.

The Marine Historical Society has selected 10 such homes — all 100-plus years old — for a driving tour in Marine.

Driving the entire tour will only take a short time. The houses on the tour are listed by number and address. The tour starts on West Division Street going east; then turning left on North Humboldt Street going north; then turning left on East Linden Street going west; and finally making a right turn on North Duncan Street going south.

The Marine Historical Society asks anyone taking the tour to remember that the homes are private residences and should be treated with respect. While on the tour, browsing the properties should be done from the curb and you should avoid walking on the grounds or approaching owners.

The pamphlets are now available at the Marine Bradford National Bank and the Marine Coin Co. The tour can be done at your leisure. The pamphlet is also attached to this story.
