Memorial service set for Keyesport couple killed in accident
A memorial service is set for Thursday for a rural Keyesport couple who died in a car accident in rural Bond County on Saturday, May 21.
Micheal, 36, and Shelly Marshall, 38, were both killed when the vehicle they were traveling in, along with their daughter, was struck by another vehicle on Illinois Route 127 at Tamalco Avenue in Bond County. Although brave citizens were able to remove Toni from the wreckage, Micheal and Shelly could not be saved.
Shelly Mashall was born Jan. 1, 1978, in Highland to the late Jerry Daiber and Diane (Wernle) Daiber.
The couple were married July 18, 1997 in Edwardsville. Micheal, a subcontractor, was self-employed. Shelly worked as a laborer for the Breese Journal. They are survived by two children, a daughter, Toni Marshall of Tamalco, and son, Micheal Lee Marshall Jr. of St. Rose.
Shelly’s grandmother, Betty Jane Daiber of Alhambra, and her two sisters, Peggy A. Daiber of St. Rose and Tracy (husband Melvin) Schuster of Sorento, also survive.
Micheal’s three sisters, Theresa Weckman of Arnold, Mo., Alicia Weckman of Perryville, Mo., and Brandi (Wes) Borts of Tipton, Mo., also survive.
A memorial celebration will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 9 at Heritage Church, 3716 Ruth Drive in Pontoon Beach. Gray Funeral Home in Wood River is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be given to the family.
