Alhambra & Grantfork news for the week of July 6

The next Women’s Guild meeting will be on Thursday, July 7 at 1:30 p.m. There will be no Churchmen’s Fellowship on this date. The ministry will visit Faith Countryside with a worship service on Friday, July 8 at 10 a.m.

Worship service on Sunday, July 10 will be followed by a Confirmation Meeting for 7th and 8th graders. This meeting will introduce the students to the schedule and share information about the Illinois South Conference Confirmation Retreat at Dubois Center. This is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 23 and Saturday, Sept. 24.

A Hitz Home Auxiliary fundraiser will take place on Monday, July 18 from 5 to 9 p.m. At Mazzio’s Pizza in Highland. A percentage of each meal sold will go toward the Hitz Auxiliary.

Flapjack Breakfast

The seventh annual Alhambra-Hamel Ministerial Alliance (AHMA) Flapjack Breakfast will be held on Saturday, July 16 from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Hamel. Tickets are $10 each and may be bought at the Immanuel Church office or at Salem United Church of Christ office in Alhambra. This all-you-can-eat breakfast will help fund the Bread of Life Food Pantry, as well as help others in need. Come out and enjoy a great breakfast and wonderful fellowship, all for a good cause.

Hitz Home News

Hitz Home Residents will enjoy the country gospel group, New Jerusalem Singers on Tuesday, July 26 at 3 p.m.

Village Web Site

Villagers are invited to check out the village website at www.villageofalhambra.com. The website includes a list of all village officers, events, history and zoning codes. The sites will be used to notify the public of new events and important public notices.

Residents’ Phone Numbers

The Alhambra village clerk is asking all residents to see that the village office has a current phone number for each household. In the event of a water or gas leak, it may be necessary to contact someone immediately. Phone numbers will not be shared with anyone and will be used only to disseminate necessary information to residents.
