Highland first-responders to be honored at Muny Band concert Friday

Highland American Legion Post 439 will honor Highland area first-responders — police, fire and EMS — before the Muny Band concert Friday night on the Square.

Members of the Legion/VFW Honor Guard will present first-responders with Stars for Troops, which is a program where stars are cut from retired flags and presented to military members to honor their service. The Legion and St. Paul School students have been participating in the program for more than a year and have decided to expand the honor to include the community’s first-responders.

The presentations will be made before the start of the concert, which begins at 8 p.m. The public is invited to attend. The concert is free.
