Work set to begin on I-70 near Troy, Route 160 near Grantfork
The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that Interstate 70 will be reduced to one lane in each direction from the I-55/70/270 interchange to 2.7 miles east of the interchange beginning on Wednesday, Aug. 17, weather permitting.
All westbound lanes will be open Monday through Thursday from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.
All eastbound lanes will be open Monday through Thursday from 3 to 6 p.m.
All lanes will be open Friday through Sunday.
This work is required to perform pavement repairs and is expected to be completed by the middle of October.
Illinois Route 160 between Herman Street and Silver Lake Road near Grantfork will be intermittently restricted to one lane.
Asphalt resurfacing is scheduled daily from 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and should be completed by the end of October.
The work was set to begin this week, weather permitting.
