Shakespeare will live again, through music, at show in Highland

Shakespeare will live again as the Highland Community Chorus sings his words to the music of George Shearing’s accessible jazz compositions.

The show, Shakespeare in September, is a limited engagement featuring jazz music performed by the Highland Community Chorus, with texts by the Bard. Arias from Shakespearean operas will also be performed by professional singers. Delicious cake, coffee, and tea will compliment the music. It will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 30 at Windows on Broadway, 401 Broadway in Highland.

Only 100 tickets will be sold for this exclusive event. These limited tickets are available from FCB Bank in Highland or by visiting the Highland Community Chorus website at highlandcommunitychorus.org. Individual tickets are $25.

Shakespeare in September is a special fundraiser and not part of the regular season, but season tickets for the Highland Community Chorus 2016-2017 season are coming soon. See the website to get your season tickets and support Highland Community Chorus in its mission to celebrate the tradition of quality choral music in the region.
