Christopher Port, 66
Christopher Bryan Port, 66, of Alton died on Friday, May 22, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family.
Celebration of life services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27 at Irwin Chapel in Glen Carbon, with Pastor Jim Kerr officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.
He was born on Sept. 23, 1948 in Richmond, Calif., to George R. Jr. and Mary Frances (Sexton) Port. He married Karen Badgley Rozell on Aug. 18, 2001. She survives.
Mr. Port gave 33 years of service to the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency as a civil engineer. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, and in his free time, he enjoyed bicycling, camping, taking walks and spending time with his family. He was a huge baseball fan and will be remembered for all the special times he shared with his family and friends.
He is also survived by his children, Jon (Amanda) Port of Strasburg, Pa., Christy (Chris) Fisher of Highland, Stacey Port (Shane Winkler) of Highland, Evan (Angela) Port of O’Fallon; step-children, James Rozell Jr., Kenneth Rozell and Lisa La Barge; a brother, Robert David (Ruth) Port; sisters, Linda Carol (Robert) Niebling and Julia Elaine (Ken) Cates; and grandchildren, Joash Port, Toby Port, Anna Port, Noah Fisher, Ava Fisher and Madilyn Port.
