Alice Schrage, 79
Alice M. Schrage, 79, of Breese died on Sunday June 28, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 2 and again from 8 to 9:45 a.m. on Friday, July 3 at Moss Funeral Home in Breese. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 3 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese, with Father Chuck Tuttle and Deacon Bob Lippert officiating. Burial will be in St. Dominic-St. Augustine Cemetery in Breese.
She was born on Dec. 26, 1935 in Aviston to Henry and Catherine (Henken) Huelsmann. She married Alfred “Dreagon” Schrage on Aug. 4, 1956 in Belleville. He preceded her in death on May 31, 1998.
Mrs. Schrage was retired from St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese, where she worked as a registered nurse. She was an avid quilter and was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and Altar Sodality in Breese.
Surviving are her children, Jim (fiancée Harriett Bevars) Schrage of Danville, Ind., Brian (Tena) Schrage of Boulder, Mike (Alicia) Schrage of Aviston and Sheila (Scott) Wieter of Aviston; grandchildren, Gregory Schrage, Timothy Schrage, Michelle Hetzel, Jennifer Kahrhoff, Nicole Schroeder, Jeremy Jones, Brandon Schrage, Trevor Schrage, Thomas Schrage, Madeline Wieter and Annabelle Wieter; great-grandchildren, Eleanor, Josh, Brantley, Cole and Allison; brothers and sisters, Francis (Florence) Huelsmann of Highland, Dave (Peg) Huelsmann of Florida, Floyd (Dorothy) Huelsmann of Trenton, Estelle Hess of Highland and Rita (Joe) Musenbrock of Scottsdale, Ariz.; sisters-in-law, Bernadine Huelsmann of Breese and Geraldine Huelsmann of Germantown; and a daughter-in-law, Mary Jane Schrage of St. Rose.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Mark Schrage; brothers, Norbert Huelsmann and Wilfred “Boob” Huelsmann; a sister, Marcie Strubhart; and brothers-in-law, Paul Strubhart and Wilbur Hess.
