Ethel Michaelis, 54

Ethel Michaelis, 54, of Highland, formerly of Cutler, Ill., died on Friday, July 10, 2015 at her home.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 16 at Wilson’s Funeral Home in Percy, Ill. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation on Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Christopher Hill, senior pastor of Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland, officiating. There will also be a memorial service at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 31 at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland, with the Rev. Hill officiating.

She was born on June 14, 1961 in St. Louis, Mo., to Lloyd and Eileen (Wilson) Keller. She married Joseph R. Michaelis on April 7, 1999 in Memphis, Tenn. He survives in Highland.

Mrs. Michaelis was a homemaker. She was a member of the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland and the Highland Historical Society.

She is also survived by her step-children, Angela Heise of Springfield, Ill., Amy Watts of Troy and Andrea Michaelis of Highland; eight step-grandchildren; and siblings, Larry Diamond, Margaret Vicrenberg, Janice Taylor, Lawrence Diamond, Lueva Farris and Lloyd Keller.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a daughter, Christina Lynn Germann.

Memorials may be made to the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland.
