Gertrude Conrad, 91

Gertrude M. “Trudy” Conrad, 91, of Highland died on Friday, July 31, 2015 at Faith Care Center in Highland.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Highland. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Highland, with Father Pat Jakel, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Highland City Cemetery. Meridith Funeral Home in Highland is in charge of arrangements.

She was born on Oct. 7, 1923 in Alton to Benjamin and Anna (Budde) Rose. On Dec. 10, 1949, she married Walter Conrad in Alton. He preceded her in death on April 2, 2011.

Mrs. Conrad was a longtime member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Wood River, before moving to Highland. Her family was the most important thing to her. She worked hard and wanted to instill good work ethic in her family. She loved to play cards and spend time with her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, swimming and water aerobics.

She is survived by her daughter, Julie (Dale) Netemeyer, R.Ph., of Highland; a granddaughter, Brianna Netemeyer; and cousins.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church or St. Louis College of Pharmacy.
