Thomas Snyder, 84

Thomas J. “Tom” Snyder, 84, of Pocahontas, formerly of Northlake, Ill., died on Sunday, Aug. 2, 2015 at his home.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4 and again on Wednesday, Aug. 5 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Trenton. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 5 at Moss Funeral Home in Trenton, with the Rev. Mike Rucker officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Trenton.

He was born on Nov. 29, 1930 in Chicago to George and Alyce (Bechtel) Snyder. He married Patricia Blum on Feb. 5, 1955 in Schiller Park, Ill. She survives in Pocahontas.

Mr. Snyder was a veteran of the United State Marine Corps and retired as an executive in the life claims division of Bankers Life and Casualty Insurance Co. He enjoyed square dancing, cars, and guns.

Other survivors include his children, Mark (Charlene) Snyder of Centralia, Neal (Jill) Snyder of Hoffman Estates, Ill., Dale (Brenda) Snyder of Northlake, Ill., and Amy (Mike) Ciborowski of Trenton; grandchildren, Chris (Jean) Snyder, Cory Snyder, Rob Snyder, Connie (Danny) Ramirez, Tim Snyder, Keith Ciborowski and Kyle Ciborowski; siblings, Dona Hayden of Venice, Fla., Jesse (Deborah) Snyder of Venice, Fla., and Susan (David) Minckley of Berwyn, Ill.; and sisters- and a brother-in-law, Alice Snyder of Davenport, Iowa, and Joy (John) Jeschke of Branson, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Myra Snyder; a grandson, Keven Ciborowski; a brother, Gordon Snyder; and brothers-in-law, Thomas Hayden, Dennis Blum and Richard Blum.
