Lawrence Ramach, 95
Lawrence Ramach, 95, of Glen Carbon died on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22 at Dauderman Mortuary in Alhambra. A private, graveside service and burial will be on Saturday, Aug. 22 at Salem Cemetery in Alhambra, with Rev. Jerry Amiri, senior pastor of Salem United Church of Christ in Alhambra, officiating.
He was born on Aug. 26, 1919 in Staunton to Nick and Annie (Jurosh) Ramach. On Nov. 18, 1943, he married Hilda M. Diesselhorst. She passed away on April 9, 2015.
Mr. Ramach served in the U. S. Army as a technical sergeant and was stationed in Central Europe during World War II. He worked for Granite City Steel, retiring in the early 1970s. During his retirement, he enjoyed travel throughout the U.S. to visit his children and grandchildren and occasional trips to the casino.
He was very proud of his long, loving marriage of 71 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty J. (Bill) Ewen; sons, Kenneth Ray (Janice) Ramach and Alan L. (Judy) Ramach; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Salem United Church of Christ or Eden Village Assisted Living Center.
