Maxine Wernle, 77
Maxine M. Wernle, 77, of New Douglas died on Monday, Aug. 17, 2015 at Alhambra Care Center in Alhambra.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 20 and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 21 at Salem United Church of Christ in Alhambra. A funeral service will follow the visitation on Friday at the church, with the Rev. Rev. Jerry Amiri, senior pastor, and the Rev. John Mindrup, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery in Alhambra. Arrangements are being handled by Dauderman Mortuary in Alhambra.
She was born on April 17, 1938 in rural Alhambra to Edward and Mamie (Schoen) Henschen. On Nov. 24, 1957, she married Wayne Dale Wernle. He passed away Nov. 5, 1998.
Mrs. Wernle was a 1956 graduate of Highland High School. She had worked at the Country Inn in Livingston and also helped her husband with the family farm. She loved to play bingo. She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Alhambra.
Survivors include sons, Kevin D. (Sharon) Wernle of Gillespie, Dennis L. Wernle of New Douglas and Bryan R. (Nicole) Wernle of Trenton; a daughter, Laurie A. (Keith) Vosholler of Sorento; a daughter-in-law, Linda P. Wernle (nee Mannhard) of Highland; grandchildren, Victoria L. (finace Logan Knoche) Wernle, Stephanie M. Wernle (special friend Drew Sloan), Jacob E. Wernle, Jared W. Wernle, Jorja M. Wernle, Eliza J. Wernle and Myla N. Wernle; a sister-in-law, Vera Henschen of Highland; and a special friend, Dale Livingston of New Douglas.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Scott A. Wernle, who died on March 7, 2010; a grandchild, Kyle J. Roberts, who died on March 10, 2013; and a brother, Laverne Henschen.
