Gary L. File, 70, of Pocahontas died on Sunday, Aug. 23, 2015 at his home.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 27 and from 8 to 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 28 at Meridith Funeral Home in Highland. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Robinson Cemetery in Pocahontas.
He was born on June 23, 1945 in Highland to Lawrence and Dorothy (Clayton) File. On March 2, 1968, he married Evelyn “Sue” Hock at Immaculate Conception Church in Pierron. She survives in Pocahontas.
Mr. File was a family man and loved his grandkids. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He was a Chicago Cubs baseball fan and liked Westerns. He worked for Basler Electric Co. for 49 years, starting at age 18.

He is also survived by a daughter, Donna (Charlie) Kalous of Pocahontas; a son, David A. File of Pocahontas; grandchildren, Brianna and Adam Kalous; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Don File and Joe File.
Memorials may be made to Robinson Cemetery or the Pocahontas Community Center.
