Carol Lee Bell, 79, of Carmi, Ill., died on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015 at her home.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5 at First Presbyterian Church in Carmi, with the Rev. Elizabeth Moses officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 1 p.m. until time of service. Burial will be held on Saturday, Sept. 12 at 1 p.m. at Keystone Cemetery in St. Jacob. Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is in charge of arrangements.
She was born on April 25, 1936 in Highland to Harold William and Alma Pauline (Frey) Langenwalter.
She graduated from Highland High School in 1954 and went on to graduate in 1957 from Washington University School of Nursing-Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. She worked as a registered nurse at Wabash Christian Retirement Center and later served as assistant director of nurses and director of nurses.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Carmi, HCE Home Extension, the White County Historical Society and Carmi Culture Club.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan (Keith) Sauls of Norris City, Ill.; a son, Sam (Cheryl) Jenny Jr. of Carmi; grandchildren, Samuel Lee (Chasity) Jenny III, Robert William Sauls, Richard Raymond Sauls, Katie Renee (fiancé Michael Richard Klaus) Sauls and John Walter Martin; a great-granddaughter, Jasmine Star Allen; and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Lynn Harold Langenwalter.
