Carol Schaffner, 73
Carol A. Schaffner, 73, of Collinsville, formerly of New Douglas, died on Monday, Sept. 14, 2015 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19 at Lesicko Funeral Home in Livingston, with the Rev. Mark E. Sidney, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Douglas, officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday.
She was born on Feb. 20, 1942 in East St. Louis to Gordon Skipper and Effie (Parker) Boots. She married Dennis E. Schaffner on July 14, 1962 at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Cahokia. He survives in Collinsville.
Mrs. Schaffner was a homemaker. Before having her daughters, she worked as a beautician. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Douglas.
Other survivors include daughters, Jackie (Randy) Schaffner-Burks of St. Charles, Mo., and Jeanie (Jim) Leitschuh of Greenville; a grandson, Devon Leitschuh of Greenville; and a sister-in-law, Betty Courtney.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Jesse Skipper.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
