Mary Ann Kapp, 90
Mary Ann Kapp, 90, of Aviston, formerly of Trenton, died on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2015 at Aviston Countryside Manor.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 18 and again from 8 to 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19 at Moss Funeral Home in Trenton. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Trenton, with Father Joseph Rascher and Father Daniel Friedman officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Trenton.
She was born on May 13, 1925 in Caseyville to Austin and Jennie (Leathers) Draper. On Dec. 23, 1944, she married Carl Kapp at St. Paul Catholic Church in Highland. He passed away on April 7, 1994.
Mrs. Kapp was a gift wrapper during Word War II for soldiers overseas, and she was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Altar Sodality in Trenton and attended St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston. She loved playing bingo and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Survivors include her daughters, Phyllis Kendall of Aviston and Rita (Dave) Markus of Aviston; grandchildren, Jeff Kendall, Jackie (Ray) Foster, Chris Kendall (fiancé Kevin Phelps), and Jenny Kendall (friend Greg Koch); and a great-grandson, Alex Kendall.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Willie Kendall; sisters, Opal Stull and Esther Curran; brothers, Paul Draper, Nuel Draper, Morris Draper and Austin Draper Jr.; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Russell Stull, Joe Curran, Dorothy Draper, Margaret Draper, Dolores “Tootsie” Draper, and Billie Jo Draper.
Memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
