Robert Gerl, 57

Robert R. Gerl, 57, of Sorento died on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015 at his home.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, Sept. 26 at Perfetti Funeral Home in Sorento, with Pastor Wayne Thomas officiating. Burial was in Sunnyside Cemetery in Sorento.

He was born on March 6, 1958 in Litchfield to Leo P. and Vera N. (Houchlei) Gerl.

Mr. Gerl worked in shipping at Roller Derby in Litchfield for 27 years. He worked at Walmart in Highland for the past 10 years. He enjoyed fishing, running and going to horse races.

Survivors include sisters, Linda (Doug) Hansen of Highland and Emma (Terry) Cruthis of Troy; a niece, Angie Rinderer of St. Jacob; great-nieces and -nephews, Dakota and Mallory Mollet, and Piper and Maxton Rinderer; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials are suggested to Sunnyside Cemetery.
