Donald Litton, 71
Donald R. “Butch” Litton, 71, of New Douglas died on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015 at his home.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 5 at Salem United Church of Christ in Alhambra. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Oct. 5 at Salem United Church of Christ in Alhambra, with the Rev. Jerry Amiri, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Dauderman Mortuary in Alhambra.
He was born on Sept. 11, 1944 in Bonne Terre, Mo., to William E. and Elsie I. (Montgomery) Litton. On Feb. 23, 1963, he married Bonadell A. “Bonnie” Leuscher. She survives in New Douglas.
Mr. Litton moved to Worden in 1951. He worked at Kleuter Brothers Concrete Products in Edwardsville for 37 years as a finisher and forklift driver. He and his wife moved to their farm south of New Douglas in 2013. He enjoyed listening to music, antique tractors, mowing grass and his many pets.
Other survivors include a sister, Norma L. (Robert) Tersero of Arkansas Pass, Texas; a nephew, Mike Litton of St. Louis, Mo.; nieces, Virginia “Ginny” Rhodes of Glen Rose, Texas, Sherry (David) Daffan of Glen Rose, Texas, Denise (Avery) Barton of Raymondville, Mo., and Amanda Davis of Litchfield; and many great-nieces and -nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, who died in 1978; his mother, who died in 1971; brothers, Frank Litton and Denver Litton, who both died on Oct. 9, 1964, and Gerald Litton, who died in infancy; and sister, Brenda Litton, who died at age 6 months, and Dorothy Litton, who died in infancy.
Memorials may be made to Adopt-A-Pet Animal Rescue.
