Lillian G. Winkler, 98, of Highland died on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015 at Faith Care Center in Highland.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14 at Meridith Funeral Home in Highland. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14 at Meridith Funeral Home in Highland, with the Rev. Greg Brady, pastor of First Congregational Church, Highland, officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Mo.
She was born April 4, 1917 in St. Louis, Mo., to Henry and Ilma (Lydick) Ulrich. She married Frank A. Winkler in Richmond Heights, Mo. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Winkler was an executive secretary for the superintendent of the Special School District in St. Louis, Mo. She was a member of First Congregational Church and was a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She loved to needle-point, sew and knit. She was easy to get along with and loved all of her family.
She is survived by a son, Richard (Christine) Warner of Highland; grandchildren, John Andrew (Donna) Warner, Sarah Christine (Steven) Fort, Phillip Kendrick (Tiffany) Warner; great-grandchildren, Vanessa Warner, Tiffany Sarah Fort, Joel Steven Fort, Cameron Wylie and Emma Warner; two great-great-grandchildren; a niece, Kay Lynn Johnson; and a nephew, Jimmy Lange.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, John Kendrick Warner; and a sister, Marion Lange.
