Cletus A. Voegele, 93, of Mascoutah died on Oct. 24, 2015 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27 at Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah. There will be a prayer service 4 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah, with Father Paul Wienhoff officiating. Burial will be in Holy Childhood Catholic Cemetery.
He was born on Sept. 9, 1922 in Engelmann Township, Ill., to Anton and Lena (Friederich) Voegele. On May 2, 1970, he married Jeanette I. Geiger in Highland. She passed away on Nov. 15, 2010.
Mr. Voegele was a retired farmer. He was a member of Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah, the St. Clair County Farm Bureau, and he was lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4380 in Mascoutah.
He is survived by a daughter, DiAnn (Glenn) Roth of Mascoutah; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Alice (Roger) Vonland of Highland, Delores Geiger of Alhambra, Dorothy Lewis of Highland, and Francis “Jake” Geiger of Hamel; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Gertrude (Cletus) Walter.
