Edna J. Frank, 87, of Highland died on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015, at Faith Countryside Homes/Faith Care Center in Highland.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30 at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland and from 8 to 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31 at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Highland, with Father Pat G. Jakel, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Highland.

She was born on Sept. 1, 1928 in St. Rose to Gerhardt and Cecelia (Henrichs) Alberternst. On Oct. 11, 1952, she married Norbert F. Frank. He passed away on Feb. 17, 1990.

Mrs. Frank attended Upper Ford County School at Beaver Prairie. After her marriage, she moved to Highland and then to St. Jacob in 1965. She returned to Highland in the mid-1990s.

Over the years, she worked at Danches Brothers Powdered Egg Co., was a caregiver and housekeeper for the Miller family of Highland, an LPN at St. Joseph’s Hospital for 12 years, and a babysitter in her home for more than 22 years. She was an assistant manager at Highland Home for a few years; then became a resident.

She moved to Legacy Place in September 2014. She enjoyed bingo, cards, sewing and volunteering at Faith Countryside Nursing Center. She liked spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed senior citizen trips.

She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, the Weinheimer Senior Citizens and the Ladies Auxiliary to VFW Post 5694, all in Highland.

Survivors include a daughter, Debra S. (Randy) Seger of St. Jacob; sons, Dennis P. (Catherine E.) Frank of Staunton and Bruce A. (Beth) Frank of St. Jacob; grandchildren, Ben N. (Kendall) Frank of Edwardsville, Ted A. (Erin) Frank of Staunton, Carrie E. Frank of Highland, Ryan D. (Shandra) Seger of St. Jacob, Robby A. (Jenny) Seger of Highland, Cory M. (significant other Ashley Leder) Seger of St. Jacob, Brittany A. Frank of St. Jacob and Bailey A. Frank of St. Jacob; and great-grandchildren, Emma R. Vachalek, Evin R. Frank, Elliot R. Frank, Samuel T. Frank, Elijah P. Frank, Joseph A. Frank, Chloe M. Seger, Lea M. Seger, Reed D. Seger, Ellen “Elley” R. Seger and Peyton C. Seger.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Leona C. Begemann, who died on June 7, 2009; and brothers, Vincent Alberternst, Robert Alberternst, Edwin Alberternst, John Alberternst and Gerhardt Alberternst Jr.
