Amanda K. Scaggs, 36, of Highland died on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5 at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation on Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dr. Beverly Wilkes-Null, pastor of Highland Hope Church in Highland, officiating.
She was born on Oct. 15, 1979 in Wyandotte, Mich., to Howard and Wilda (Stover) Scaggs.
At age 3, Ms. Scaggs moved with her family to the Highland area. She attended Grantfork school and Highland High School, graduating in 1998. She participated in the Madrigal Singers, choir, and plays in high school.

She attended Belleville Area College and Stanford Brown Business College. She worked for Clinton Manor Living Center for four years and prior to that she worked at other care facilities in New Baden, Carlyle and Trenton.
She loved to sing karaoke and liked animals. She enjoyed watching her son play football. She was a member of Highland Quarterback Club.
Survivors include her parents, who live in Trenton; a brother, Jonathan A. (Carrie) Scaggs of Kansas City, Mo.; a sister, Elizabeth A. Scaggs of Highland; twin daughters, Savannah K. and Julia M. Graham of Highland; a son, Paul R. “Bubbie” Graham of Highland; her significant other, Julian Graham of Highland; nieces, Malary, Marley, Madelyn and Isabell; a nephew, Gavin; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
