Retired U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Mark “Doug” Willis, 55, of St. Rose died on Monday, Nov. 16, 2015 at his home, surrounded by his family.

Visitation will be held on from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19 at Moss Funeral Home in Breese. A memorial Mass will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19 at St. Rose Catholic Church in St. Rose, with Father Edward Schaefer officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in St. Rose Cemetery.

He was born on Feb. 22, 1960 in East St. Louis to Chesley and Barbara Willis. On Sept. 25, 1981, he married Joan Tebbe at St. Rose Catholic Church. She survives.

Mr. Willis retired with the rank of technical sergeant from the U.S. Air Force after serving from 1980-2000. He formerly worked in the fire restoration division of Jim’s Formal Wear in Trenton.

He was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church and Men’s Sodality, the St. Rose Development Club, and he was a life member of the Highland VFW Post 5694. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and aggravating people.

Other survivors include his children, Jacob Willis, Lauren Willis (friend Nathan Vice), and Caitlyn Willis, all of St. Rose; siblings, Mack Willis of Tampa, Fla., Kim Cruse of Pocahontas, and Mike (Nichole) Willis of Pocahontas; his mother-in-law, Gladys (nee Knebel) Tebbe of St. Rose; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Brenda Willis of Rockwall, Texas, Jim Tebbe of St. Rose, Joe (Jan) Tebbe of St. Rose, Rich (Chrysa) Tebbe of St. Rose, Norma Tebbe of Waxahachie, Texas, Kathy (KJ) Jansen of St. Rose, and Carolyn Alberternst of St. Rose; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded by his parents; his father-in-law, Walter Tebbe; brothers-in-law, Dennis Tebbe and Kevin Alberternst; and nephews, Jason Willis and Jeremy Tebbe.

Memorials may be made to his children’s education fund.
