Joseph E. “Joe” Lange, 51, of Highland died on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital (BJC) in St. Louis, Mo.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21 at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland. A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21 at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, with Father Pat G. Jakel, pastor of St. Paul Catholic Church in Highland, officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 28 at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Highland.
He was born on May 14, 1964 in Highland to John and Juliana (Haislar) Lange.
Mr. Lange grew up in Highland and was a graduate of Highland High School in 1982. He was in Boy Scouts Troop 40 for many years. He ran a lawn-cutting business for many years. He also worked for the Madison County Fair Board for 22 years.
He was an honorary life member of the Highland Jaycees and the Madison County Fair Board.
Survivors include a brother, James R. (Brenda) Lange of Rolesville, N.C.; sisters, Joanne A. Lange of Breese, Judith C. (Leon) Buehler of Highland and Jacquelyn S. (David) Dillingham of Jackson, Tenn.; a half-brother, Rocky R. (Janice) Lange of Tampa, Fla.; many nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews
He was preceded in death by his father, who died on Aug. 9, 2012; his mother, who died don May 20, 1996; a brother, Jerome C. Lange, who died on Oct. 22, 1972; and a sister, Janet M. Lange, who died on Nov. 6, 2010.
Memorials may be made to the Highland Animal Shelter, Camp New Hope with the Jaycees, Special Olympics or the American Kidney Fund.
