Adam S. Korte, 24, of Springfield, Ill., died on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015 at his home.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 22 at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 23 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Highland, with Father Pat G. Jakel, pastor, officiating.

He was born on Jan. 30, 1991 in Maryville to Craig S. and Sherry G. (Starkweather) Korte.

Mr. Korte grew up in New Douglas. He attended Highland High School with the class of 2009. He worked construction, primarily as a carpenter. He enjoyed landscaping, working on cars and working with his hands.

He lived in New Douglas, St. Louis, Mo., and for the last year, in Springfield. He played Little League baseball as a youth. He enjoyed hanging out with family, watching movies and listening to music. He was a beloved nephew, uncle cousin and friend to many. He “had tons of friends.”

Survivors include his father, Craig S. (Mary P. Kruse) Korte of St. Louis, Mo.; his mother, Sherry G. (Michael) Lappe of New Douglas; his paternal grandparents, Thomas J. and Phyllis J. (nee Blumer) Korte of Highland; his maternal step-grandparents, Dale A. and Mary C. (nee Ziesset) Lappe Sr. of Breese; his significant other, Marissa S. Orr of Springfield, Ill.; brothers, Andy (significant other Toni Brinker) Korte of Eureka, Mo., and Tyler T. (Keri) Korte of O’Fallon; a sister, Bria N. (Cory) Alexander of Highland; a step-brother, Austin T. Orozco of St. Louis, Mo.; and nephews, Christian C. Alexander of Highland, Kylie P. Heldenbrand of Highland, Collin M. Heldenbrand of Highland, Ethan J. Heldenbrand of Highland, Jack R. Korte of Eureka, Mo., Oliver A. Korte of Eureka, Mo., and Parker T. Korte of O’Fallon.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William J. and Margerete L. Starkweather.
