Chrystal Dicus, 62

Chrystal Lee Dicus, 62, of Highland died on Monday, Nov. 30, 2015 at her home.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 2 and from 8 to 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 3 at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland. A funeral service will follow the visitation on Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Christopher W. Hill, senior pastor of Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland, officiating. Burial will be in Highland City Cemetery.

She was born on Nov. 21, 1953 in Highland to Jerome J. Zobrist and Carol S. Zobrist Miller (nee Wirz). On July 14, 1972, she married Ronald Ray “Ron” Dicus. He survives in Highland.

Mrs. Dicus was raised in Highland and was a 1971 graduate of Highland High School, where she was a cheerleader and a homecoming court attendant. As a youth, she worked for Kayser Drug Store and was a runner up in the Miss Madison County Fair Queen contest.

Although she was primarily a homemaker, she had worked for Holzinger Insurance and other numerous local jobs. She enjoyed mushroom hunting, being outdoors, fishing, and watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball. She also loved watching her grandchildren and their sporting events.

Other survivors include her father, Jerome J. (Carla B.) Zobrist of Highland; daughters, Trista L. Dall of Aviston, Trina R. Dennison of Highland and Teffy E. (Brian) Beard of Highland; grandchildren, Tori E Dall of Aviston, Taylor E. Dall of Aviston, Bryce M. Dennison of Highland, Tegan M. Beard of Highland and Cameron R. Dennison of Highland; brothers, Rodney J. (Debi A.) Zobrist of Highland and Tim A. (Helen) Zobrist of Osseo, Wis.; and a sister, Tammy L. (Jay) Hammond of Greenville.

She was preceded in death by her mother, who died on March 23, 2003; and her step-father, Lee Miller.
