John Schuster, 69

John “Jack” H. Schuster, 69, of Highland died on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Highland.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 10 at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland. A memorial funeral service will follow the visitation on Thursday at the funeral home, with Father Pat G. Jakel, pastor of St. Paul Catholic Church in Highland, officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery in Johnstown, Pa., at a later date.

He was born on March 21, 1946 in Johnstown, Pa., to John and Helen (Oaks) Schuster. On Dec. 8, 1995, he married Linda K. Shustrick. She survives in Highland.

Mr. Schuster grew up in Johnstown, Pa., and graduated from Johnstown High School in 1963. He moved to Highland in the early 1970s. He sold insurance for several years and then became a truck driver. He drove over the road for Beckman and TMCA, and he did short hauls for EF Trucking. He retired at age 62.

He enjoyed his toy trains and villages, especially at the Christmas season. He loved Pittsburgh Steelers football.

He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.

Survivors include daughters, Renee Autry of Beckemeyer and Jackie M. (Jamey) Rahm of Beckemeyer; a son, Aaron J. (Dedra) Schuster of Highland; a step-son, Patrick J. Miesko of Johnstown, Pa.; grandchildren, Rebecca Autry of Walsh, Ill., Logan Sevor of Freeburg, Emma Rahm of New Baden, Gavin Rahm of New Baden, Noah Schuster of Highland and Owen Schuster of Highland; a sister, Carol Cassidy of Aurora, Colo.; a sister-in-law, Joyce Schuster of Loudon, N.H.; and a brother-in-law, William (Carol) Schustrick of Bolivar, Pa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Ray Schuster.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
