Pauline Frohn, 86
Pauline J. Frohn, 86, of Pocahontas died on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2016 at Aviston Countryside Manor in Aviston.
There will be no visitation. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 17 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Pierron, with Father Scott A. Snider officiating. Private burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Pierron. Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland.
She was born on July 7, 1929 in Germantown to Ben and Eugenia (Ripperda) Thuenemann. On Nov. 4, 1952, she married Leonard J. Frohn. He survives in Pocahontas.
Mrs. Frohn grew up at Germantown. She attended Woodlane Country School and helped on the farm. After marriage, she moved to the Pierron/Pocahontas area and helped her husband farm grain and livestock. They lived more than 60 years on the farm.
She and her husband enjoyed attending dances when they were younger. She collected old family photos. She also made dollies and did embroidery and other fancy work.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Other survivors include a son, Leon J. (Mary) Frohn of Pocahontas; a grandson, Eric L. Frohn (significant other Elizabeth Vinyard) of Pocahontas; and a sister, Adeline Holtmann of Germantown.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Clara Richard, who died in 1998; her father- and mother-in-law, Gerhard and Frieda (Dieckmann) Frohn; and brothers-in-law, Roland Richard, Raymond Holtmann and Gerhard Frohn, who died in infancy.
Memorials may be made as Masses, to Hospice of Southern Illinois, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
