James R. “Bob” Ford, 68, of Highland died on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Highland.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 22 at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland. Private burial will be in Highland City Cemetery.
He was born on March 1, 1947 in Reyno, Ark., to Cecil and Della (Combs) Ford. On March 21, 1986, he married Cindy Sue Burke, who survives in Highland.
Mr. Ford grew up in Reyno, Ark., where he worked on the family farm. At age 18, he moved to St. Louis and worked at St. Luke’s Hospital. He started working for General Motors in 1975, retiring in 1997. He was a member of United Auto Workers 2250 in St. Louis.

His passion was keeping his yard immaculate. He also enjoyed his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, camping, boating, working on old or new cars, and spending time with his family and his beloved pets.
Other survivors include daughters, Reene (Jerry) Triska of Olympia, Wash., and Emily Montegna of Highland; sons, Robert (Nichole) Ford of Black Rock, Ark., James (Jeannie) Ford of Arnold, Mo., and Andrew Ford (special friend Cassie Smaniotto) of Centerville, Iowa; 19 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Margaret Cuevas of Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Nancy Hooper.
