Carol E. “Ducky” Ruehrup, 79, of Belleville, formerly of rural Alhambra, died on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016 at Four Fountains Nursing Home in Belleville.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 27 at Salem United Church of Christ in Alhambra, with the Rev. Jerry Amiri, senior pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Spangle Cemetery near Livingston. Meridith Funeral Home in Highland is in charge of arrangements.
She was born on Sept. 15, 1936 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Highland to Milton and Nora (Ammann) Dubach of Highland. On Aug. 30, 1969, she married LeRoy F. Ruehrup at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Ruehrup and her husband lived on a dairy farm north of Alhambra. They became members of Salem United Church of Christ in Alhambra in 1979. In October 1999, they moved to Belleville.

She is survived by a son, Robert Ruehrup of Decatur, Ill.; daughters, Lois (John) Simpson of Mehlville, Mo., and Brenda Ruehrup of Belleville; a grandchild, Emily Simpson; sisters, Jean Vosholler of Highland, Bernice (Jim) Gilomen of Trenton and Mary Ann (Richard) Albrecht of Staunton.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Lois Dubach, who died at birth; and a brother-in-law, Fred Vosholler.
Memorials may be made to Salem United Church of Christ or Spangle Cemetery.
