Virginia Rezabek, 93

Virginia M. Rezabek, 93, of Highland, formerly of rural New Douglas, died on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Highland.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. on Friday, March 18 at Lesicko Funeral Home in Livingston. A funeral service will be held on at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 18 at Lesicko Funeral Home in Livingston, with Father George Radosevich, pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Livingston, officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville.

She was born on April 5, 1922 in Edwardsville to Walter and Augusta (Tschannen) Abendroth. She married to Marion E. Rezabek on Jan. 22, 1943 in San Diego, Calif. He preceded her in death on May 13, 1997.

Mrs. Rezabek was a homemaker. She was a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church in Highland and a former member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Staunton.

Survivors include sons, David (Sherry) Rezabek of rural Greenville, Robert (Melissa) Rezabek of Edwardsville and Steve (Linda) Rezabek of Highland; daughters, Marie (Raymond) Wheeler of Florissant, Mo., and Sue Musick of Staunton; 15 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Dale Rezabek; a daughter, Diane Lea Rezabek, who died in infancy; a great-grandson, Blake Rezabek; and a brother, Charles Abendroth.

Memorials may be made at Masses.
