Grace “Maxine” Lanham, 83, of Highland died on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Highland.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12 and from 8 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 13 at Meridith Funeral Home in Highland. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 13 at Meridith Funeral Home in Highland, with the Rev. Phil Kershner, pastor of United Church of Christ of Marine, officiating. Burial will be in Coulterville Cemetery.
She was born on Jan. 4, 1933 at home in Coulterville, Ill., to Robert and Myrtle (Wilson) Curry. On June 5, 1954, she married Wayne E. Lanham in Coulterville. He passed away on July 28, 2014.
She was a member of United Church of Christ of Marine. She was a member of the Eastern Star and Highland Christian Women’s Club. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to read and play crossword puzzles. She was a very kind and giving person.
She is survived by her children, Laura (Doug) Hixson of Centralia, Jim (Debbie) Lanham of Florissant, Mo., Cindy Terrill of Highland and Steve (Leann) Lanham of Troy, Mo.; grandchildren, Jonathon (Nichole) Hixson, Garren (special friend Tori Barbarash) Hixson, Todd Lanham, Melanie Lanham, Kelly (special friend Junior Cox) Terrill, David Terrill, Steven Lanham, Jordan (special friend Casey Erlitz) Lanham and Crystal Lanham; great-grandchildren, Hunter Hixson, Hadi Hixson and Michael Lanham; a brother, Gene Curry of Coulterville; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, who died in infancy; and brothers and sisters, Iola Sasson, Bill Curry, Earl Curry, Marge Stewart and Warren Curry.
