Prep Girls Basketball: Lady Bulldogs go 6-2 in North Carolina
The Highland High School girls basketball visited the Dean Smith Center on the campus of the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, N.C., along with with Duke University in Raleigh-Durham, N.C., on their trip in the state of North Carolina from June 24-29.
The Lady Bulldogs competed in eight games while also getting to hit the beach for some fun in the sun as well shopping and site-seeing. On the court, the Highland girls went 6-2 at the North Carolina team camp, with both losses coming by just two points including one in OT.
“We faced some really strong competition from Georgia, Ohio, Pennsylvania and North Carolina,” said Highland assistant coach Chris Hartlieb. “After losing four starters to graduation, the goal was to begin to define roles for this year’s team. The kids bonded and progressed as a cohesive unit playing as a team.”
