Coverage of the 2014-15 McKendree bass fishing season airing on NBC Outdoors

The McKendree University bass fishing team may currently be featured on national television over the next month on NBC Sports Outdoors.

Cabela’s Collegiate Bass Fishing series events are currently airing on NBC Sports Outdoors at 11 a.m. Coverage started on July 28 and will run through Sep. 22.

On Aug. 18, the program will feature day two at the Collegiate Bass Fishing Open held on Kentucky Lake, along with the Collegiate Bass Texas Shootout that was on Lake Texoma. McKendree finished in eighth place, 24th place and 34th place at the Collegiate Bass Fishing Open, and in seventh place at the Texas Shootout.

On Aug. 25, the program will take a look at the Cabela’s School of the Year program.

On Sept. 1 and 8, coverage of the BoatU.S. Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship from Pickwick Lake will be shown. The Bearcats improved their finish from last season with a 31st, 70th, and 96th place finish. On Sept. 15 and 22, they will repeat the coverage from the championship tournament.

McKendree will begin its 2015-16 season on Sept. 26 when it hosts the McKendree Fall Invitational on Carlyle Lake. Take-off will be at 7 a.m., from the Allen Branch boat ramp with weigh-in at 3 p.m.
