Highland VFW Over 40 Softball League champions crowned

The Prescriptions Plus softball team won the VFW Over 40 Women’s Softball League that is held on Wednesday evenings at the VFW.

Prescriptions Plus and State Farm actually tied atop the standings with identical 12-3 records, but Prescriptions Plus won the tiebreaker by winning two of the three meetings.

Prescriptions Plus dedicated its season to their teammate, Wendy Hartlieb, who passed away shortly before the season started after a courageous battle with lung cancer. The team wore white ribbons on their shirts to pay tribute to Wendy.

The 2015 Broadway Bar & Grille / Poplar Junction Lanes & Lounge softball team won the VFW Over 40 Men’s Softball League championship after posting a 13-1 record in the regular season and then going 3-0 in the double-elimination league tournament.
