Three inducted into Greater Carlyle Bowling Association Hall of Fame
Darrell Rinderer of Highland, Ken Monken of Trenton and Ron Hellmann of Bartelso were inducted into the Greater Carlyle Bowling Association (GCBA) Hall of Fame at the association’s annual banquet at Michael’s Restaurant Highland on Saturday, Nov. 7.
Rinderer, Monken and Hellmann joined 57 others who are already members of the Greater Carlyle Bowling Association Hall of Fame.
The Hall of Fame ceremony was held in conjunction with the Bowling and Tournament Awards for the 2014-2015 bowling season.
The GCBA represents 13 bowling centers, including, Baden Bowl in New Baden, Junction City Bowl in Centralia, Bartelso Bowl, Grantfork Bowl, 4th Street Lanes in Greenville, Hank’s Bowl in Trenton, Hi Top Bowl in Highland, Mascoutah Community Lanes, Poplar Junction Lanes in Highland, Salem Bowl, St. Jacob Lanes, Vandalia Bowl and V&H Recreation in Breese.
GCBA Tournament Results
The 73rd annual Greater Carlyle Tournament for the 2014-2015 Season was hosted by Salem Bowl (singles and doubles and Mascoutah Community Lanes (team event). The winners were as follows:
Singles Handicap: Larry Salapatek, 764
Singles Scratch: Nick Korte, 749
Doubles Handicap: S. Bibee & C Gill, 1,484
Doubles Scratch: Nick Korte & John Hellige, 1,375
Team Handicap: Restoration Specialties, 3,592
Team Scratch: (Tie) Bowlers Pre Shoppe & Popcorn Corn Poppers, 3,273
All Events Handicap: Jason Kle, 2,265
All Events Scratch: Nick Korte, 2,152
High Average: John Bauer, 235 for 128 games at Mascoutah Lanes
High Series: Jeremy Rakers, 836 for three games at Hank’s Bowl
