Halloween bunny meeting

Pet bunnies will receive free nail trims beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday when the House Rabbit Society meets at the Caseyville Township Building, 10001 Bunkum Road, Fairview Heights, for its monthly meeting. The MADD Illinois Affiliate of Mothers Against Drunk Driving will host its signature Walk Like MADD non-competitive 5K Run/Walk fundraiser from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. at Rock Springs Park in O’Fallon. The park is located at 1824 E. Third St. The event’s primary goal is to raise awareness and funds and rally support for MADD’s Campaign to Eliminate Drunk Driving. The O’Fallon Township High School Cheerleaders for Kid’s Camp are hosting a cheer camp from noon to 3:30 p.m., Saturday at the OTHS Milburn campus located at 650 Milburn School Rd. in O’Fallon. The camp will focus on motions and cheers, jumps, stunts and tumbling. Snacks and drinks will be provided and a parent performance will conclude the camp. Walmart is hosting a Wellness Day 4-hour event from noon to 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 15 at the Walmart at 1530 W. Highway 50 in O’Fallon. Beginning at 5:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 21, Southwestern Illinois College will host the Kashmir Dash 5K Run/Walk at the Belleville Campus, 2500 Carlyle Ave. The race will begin in the Quad, and packet pickup is from 2-5 p.m. in the Varsity Gym lobby. From 2-5 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 20, runners can stop by to register or pick up their packet early in the Varsity Gym lobby too. The entry fee is $25 before race day, or $30 on the day of the race. Interior Design Class

O’Fallon Kloss Furniture is offering a free home design class open to the public held at 11 a.m. and, then again, at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 3. Each class will last about an hour. Veteran’s Day parade

For more than 30 years the Sgt. Charles A. Fricke VFW Post 805 and the Post 805 Auxiliary have hosted O’Fallon’s annual Veteran’s Day parade. This year it is slated to begin at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 11. Parade line up is at 12:30 p.m. at the O’Fallon Community Park on the corner of Fifth and Park Streets at the Katy Cavins Community Center. Veterans’ Monument Program

The City of O’Fallon will hold its annual Veterans Day program at 10:40 a.m., Friday, Nov. 11 with patriotic music selections to begin. The ceremony will commence at 11 a.m. The event is held at the Veterans’ Monument Park at 737 E. Wesley Drive in O’Fallon. The guest speaker will be United States Air Force Brigadier General Steven J. Berryhill, deputy director of U.S. Transcom Operations and Plans. Participants include the O’Fallon School District 90 Fifth Grade Music Program; St. Clare Catholic School and First Baptist Academy Choruses; O’Fallon Township High School Air Force Junior ROTC; VFW Post 805; Miss O’Fallon Madeleine Henken and Miss Kat Rubish; and, the USAF Honor Guard Rifle Team. The names of 29 newly inscribed veterans will be introduced at this time. All veterans are encouraged to wear their medals and decorations that day. Attendees are asked to bring lawn chairs and drinks. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held at the First Baptist Church of O’Fallon at 1111 E. Highway 50.
