Justin Dye recently committed to attend Rock Valley College to continue his educational career and play baseball.
Dye, a returning varsity letterman at O’Fallon Township High School, is a senior right-handed pitcher for the Panthers.
In 2016, the Southwestern Conference Champion Panthers were nationally ranked, finishing 33-6 in the Sweet 16 in the Illinois High School Association Class 4A playoffs.
“We are excited to have Justin move on to Rock Valley College after his high school career,” said OTHS head coach Jason Portz. “Rock Valley is getting a player who has dedicated himself to getting better each year. Justin works very hard at the sport and has continued to grow, get stronger and improve on the mound. We are hopeful that Justin will be a key part of our success at OTHS during the 2017 season. Justin has always been blessed with a strong arm and has the ability to make pitches to get quality hitters out at the varsity level.

“Rock Valley is a program where Justin will be able to grow as a pitcher for two more years and hopefully ultimately move on to pitch at a four-year school.”
Rock Valley, located in Rockford, Ill., competes in the competitive North Central College with traditional national powers Joliet Junior College, Triton College and the College of DuPage.
“Coach (Chad) Herren is getting a player that will completely dedicate himself to their program and the sport of baseball, hopefully helping Rock Valley take their program to another level of success,” Portz said.
