The Shiloh Police Department said in a news release that a warrant had been issued Nov. 29 for the man identified as George W. Kinder.
Kinder’s bail was set at $50,000. He posted bond shortly after his arrest last week and was released, according to the jail.
The warrant stemmed from a September vehicle crash in Shiloh at the intersection of Hartman Lane and Thouvenot Lane. The suspect vehicle left the scene after the crash, and Swansea police later stopped the vehicle in Belleville. A Shiloh police officer responded to the scene and took the suspect into custody.
After an investigation, authorities submitted the case to the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office for review.
Unlawful possession of a controlled substance is a Class 4 felony, and driving under the influence is a Class A misdemeanor. Leaving the scene of an accident involving property damage is a Class A misdemeanor.
