Letters to the Editor
This letter advocates Todd Roach’s re-election, Ward 4 Alderman, O’Fallon.
Roach frequently communicates with O’Fallon residents, both in-person out in the community and via social media. And he responds to all inquiries, not just those convenient or politically expedient to him.
The reason for Alderman Roach’s transparency is that his common sense, pro-growth approach to government is nothing to hide from. He does not serve to benefit his or any special interest.
No, Roach serves to equitably improve our community’s infrastructure and to make O’Fallon more attractive for economic growth. He understands that attracting businesses not only creates jobs but can shift the property tax burden off residents.
Too many politicians in our state and our area are in it for themselves, and that’s why it’s even more critical that O’Fallon’s 4th Ward re-elect Todd Roach on April 4.
Ben Baffa, O’Fallon

I am writing in support of Mary Jeanne Hutchison for O’Fallon Ward 2 Council Member. There is no one more qualified than Mary Jeanne.
She served as our City’s Parks and Recreation Director for nearly two decades and in that time she helped build our city into the No. 1 community in the metro-east.
She built the O’Fallon Family Sports Park and the O’Fallon Station, which is home to the Vine Street Market. It is important to remind voters that Mayor Herb Roach as an alderman voted against the construction of the O’Fallon Station and the all weather turfs at the Sports Park. In the last two weeks, he once again voted against the construction of new parking lots at the Sports Park to accommodate the growth of tournaments. He cast the tie-breaking vote not to support the development of the Sports Park.
We need Hutchison back at the table to advocate for our city and our families. We can trust her to act in our city’s best interest instead of supporting an agenda that allows “special zoning” variances for special interests which do little to enhance our economic growth or draw visitors to our community to play, shop or stay.
Hutchison is fair and honest and puts our community and our residents first. I urge every voter in Ward 2 to vote for Mary Jeanne Hutchison on April 4.
Kelly Roberts, O’Fallon
