O’Fallon boys track team competing at state meet in Charleston

The O’Fallon Township High School boys track and field team will compete at the IHSA 3A state championship Thursday, May 25, through Saturday, May 27, at O’Brien Stadium in Charleston.

The team qualified in six events. Trystn West qualified in the high jump (1.90m/6’3”). Sophomore Omar Mims qualified in the 200m with the second fastest time in school history (21.75). Dylan Ybarra qualified in the 3200m (9:23.24) and the 1600m (4:27.23).

The 4x200m relay of Julian Johnson, Omar Mims, Lucas Faver, and Akeelan Dowell qualified with a season’s best time of 1:29.12. Also, the 4x800m relay of Eli Greenstreet, Jackson Gherardini, Robert Wocking and Zach Thoman ran the fastest time of all 11 sectionals when they ran 7:51.19.
